How it works

Step 1: WE QUOTE

We’ll drop an FSC recycled postcard with your tailored quote through your door (just book a quote here if we haven’t got to you yet.)

Step 2: YOU BOOK

Let us know if we have neighbour garden access, and if you’d like us to dispose of the clippings - and we’ll mail to confirm a trim date (we aim for 3-5 days from booking).

Step 3: WE TRIM

We arrive quietly, trim with care, and leave things tidy. Your invoice and hedge care tips follow on email. Job done.

We focus on maintenance trims, typically removing between 15–30% (in line with RHS guidance).

We always trim a little longer rather than shorter to be on the safe side - and most hedges prefer it. Gentler, semi-regular trims help your hedge stay healthy and neat long-term.

See our FAQ section for more info on how we trim.

FAQ’s

  • Nope! And our Silent Service means we won’t disturb you if you are — there’s no need for us to knock when we arrive. But we’re super friendly, so feel free to say hi if you fancy. We’ll just get on with the job...

  • Because we’re in high demand, we organise our days to fit in as many jobs as possible — which helps keep things efficient and affordable for you. Since our trimming is quiet and low-key, and doesn’t require anyone to be home, most people are happy to just get it done without a fixed time. However we do give you the day it will be done.

  • By law, we can only trim up to your property boundary. If any part of the hedge crosses onto your neighbour’s side, we’ll need their permission before trimming that section.

If the hedge extends significantly onto their property - and they want a seamless trim, we can quote them separately. Just let us know on the booking form. We’re all about keeping things neighbourly.

  • Our focus is on front garden hedges—no need for you to be home, and no gate access or pets to worry about.

If your back garden hedge is easy to access and we’ve agreed in advance, we’ll happily quote for it.

Booking & Access

  • Yes we’re Lantra certified and fully insured. We wear safety gear and stay vigilant at all times when working.

  • We use professional, eco-friendly tools and disposal methods, and run a smooth booking process to make your experience hassle-free. Above all, we care about doing a thorough, respectful job every time.

  • Glad you asked! We use the professional-grade EGO HT6500 trimmer. Quieter, cleaner, and more powerful than petrol trimmers. It’s double knife-edge blades ensure a cleaner cut, reducing browning. We also use good old hand-shears for detail work.

  • Rarely in front garden hedges, but it can happen. We always have a careful look before trimming. If there’s a nest, we’ll leave it alone and be back later in the season - no fee for our visit.

Credentials

  • We don’t quote by time.

Every hedge is different, so we give a tailored, fixed price based on size and complexity. That way, you know the cost upfront — and we can focus on doing it properly, not racing the clock.

    But as a rough guide:

Light seasonal trim – from £25
Small, well-maintained hedges. Great for keeping things tidy.

    Standard front hedge – £40–£65
Our most common job — typically 1–2 m high.

Larger or unruly hedges – from £70–£100+
Taller, wider, or harder-to-reach hedges. Includes informal shaping.

Final pricing is always confirmed following an on-site inspection.

  • Once we’ve trimmed your hedge, we’ll email you your invoice per agreed quote. We take payment via bank transfer.

  • If the weather’s not right for a safe or tidy trim, we’ll wait until it is and keep you updated — no hassle, no charge.

Quotes & Payment

  • We usually trim between 15–30% to keep your hedge healthy and in shape, following RHS guidance. Sometimes this reveals light bald spots — totally normal. These areas will fill back in as the hedge recovers and thickens.

  • Let us know—we’re friendly and fair. If it’s something we can fix, we will.
